Date: Mar 03/31/15 10:47 PM Subject: [BNUG-News] BNUG meeting Tuesday April 7 - at Stonebridge at Burlington MA - Cold Fusion to the Rescue From: Steve Isenberg Gentlepeople, This coming Tuesday your Boston Network Users Group, BNUG, will meet at a new location, Stonebridge at Burlington. John Luke Mills will provide an introduction to solving problems with Cold Fusion (no radiation protection required). As usual, admission is FREE and open to all. About the meeting: ColdFusion to the Rescue John Luke will talk about a big problem he encountered on a project and how he used the Adobe ColdFusion language to solve it. He will also include an overview of how ColdFusion fits into a web application stack, a primer on the most commonly used features, and some comparison with PHP. As time permits he will also go over some ColdFusion features that he finds "really cool". Stonebridge at Burlington is located at 50 Greenleaf Way; approximately across the street from the Sun Microsystems now Oracle, Exa, and Avid Technology offices located on Network Drive. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU PLAN TO COME. Space is limited and we need to make sure we have space and munchies for everyone -- food is being provided by our site hosts, Stonebridge (thank you!). About our presenter: John Luke Mills has been developing web-based application since 2003. He has specialized on the Adobe stack; ColdFusion on the server and Flex/Flash in the browser. Prior to that John Luke was a Principal Network Engineer at Integris / Bull / Bull HN / Honeywell Bull. Munchies and Intermingling (M&I) starts at 6:30pm, the meeting will start at 7pm and must end by 8:30pm. PLEASE LET ME KNOW if you are planning on coming, or even if you think you might be there, so we can make sure we have enough seating and enough food of course.
