Learn the basics of designing and building Access tables. Dean explains how to leverage the power of the relational database model, while illustrating the importance of a solid design. He'll explain the different types of table relationships, and the role of each. Lastly, the table analyzer wizard will be demonstrated by splitting data from a single Excel spreadsheet into multiple Access tables. INTERMEDIATE ACCESS ***************************************************************** Access and SQL Server Revisited -- 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM Presented by: Dean Serrentino of Paradigm Information Systems, Inc. For the past eleven months, John Giuliano has been presenting his "Intro to SQL Server" segment. For anyone who may have missed the first few critical introductory presentations, the current topics may seem bewildering. This month Dean offers a chance for those people to join the pack. He will present an overview of the basics of using an Access front end with SQL Server data. Regular attendees of the "Intro to SQL Server" segment may also want to attend this session as a refresher. ***************************************************************** Access Trauma Center -- 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM Presented by: John Giuliano of Stone-Crowne Associates We'll spend two hours helping to debug, add enhancements, or make design recommendations. The audience is encouraged to bring in real world developer problems that need solving now. Bring your applications on flash drive, CD, or laptop. ACCESS DEVELOPER ***************************************************************** Introduction To SQL Server -- 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM Presented by: John Giuliano of Stone-Crowne Associates In this session, we will work exclusively with SQL Server 2005 and the tools that are available to manage it. The focus of this series is to enable Access developers to design client-server applications using Access as the user interface. ***************************************************************** General Announcements and Forum -- 6:00 PM - 6:30 PM Presented by: John Giuliano of Stone-Crowne Associates Share information regarding upcoming events, Access bugs, add-on products, and anything else that affects the world of the Access developer. ***************************************************************** Creating Forms/Objects and Linking to Databases Dynamically -- 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM Presented by: Martin Svedlow Visual Studio's default method for creating forms and linking to databases is to use the drag and drop design surface. However, forms and their elements can also be created dynamically in code. In this demonstration, Marty shows us some ways to dynamically create forms and their elements, and how to link those elements to a database (SQL Server) using Visual Basic code.
