I have, over many years, developed a Foxpro program - DOS based - that does all of my medical billing and accounting. After many years of creation and use, it is quite large, but thoroughly debugged. It seems to me that it is time to run this program under Visual Foxpro for Windows, since I will shortly be retiring my last Windows 98 computers in my office. I own a copy of VFP 7.0 but it is much more complex than I, as a self-tought programmer, can handle. I am looking for a programmer/developer who could work with me on an hourly basis with the primary goal of running my application under a true Windows version of Foxpro. Could you suggest anyone who would be appropriate for this problem ? Thank you for your assistance. In the context of Visual FoxPro, it takes a more pragmatic approach to unit testing than a more purist xUnit implementation would. The last of the snow drifts looks like it'll be gone around here shortly... Read on! 1. "What's New in Nine" now available 2. 50%-off Gig goes permanent! 3. Looking for consulting help with Fox or Linux apps? 4. 2005 Conferences: Prague, Southwest Fox & German Konferenz 1. "What's New in Nine: Visual FoxPro's Latest Hits" by Tamar E. Granor, Doug Hennig, Rick Schummer, Toni Feltman and Jim Slater has been shipping for over a month now. If you haven't picked up your copy, now's the time to do so! Buy online and download the e-book (in PDF format) immediately. Sample chapters, detailed table of contents, index, and ordering info available at: http://www.hentzenwerke.com/catalog/wnvfp9.htm At 376 pages, it's a monster - our biggest "What's New" book yet. How can you live without it? 2. The 50% for lotsa-lotsa books special we ran late August was pretty popular. People said they'd rather order from us but often the prices are lower at other online sites. Looks like it's time to take the gloves off, eh? OK, here's the deal. Buy 4 or more printed books (that are currently in stock) and get between 50 and 65% (or more) off. More info available on our website - www.hentzenwerke.com. 3. If you're looking for help with Fox development, with Web Connection in particular, with software development mentoring, or if you're getting started with Linux apps (smart!), give me a shout at whil@whilhentzen.com. The projects have been popping up with regularity, but there's always room for one more! And don't feel you have to be local - most of the work that's been showing up here has been at least a time zone away! Of course, if you're looking for someone closer to home to help with your Fox needs, check out our list of authors - many of them are available for part or full time consulting. 4. If you're looking for a conference to attend this year, for my money, there are only three worth considering. VFP DevCon Praha, 6/21-23, Prague, Czech Republic, http://www.daquas.cz/fox/devcon2005 Southwest Fox conference in Arizona in October, http://www.swfox.net/ German National DevCon in Frankfurt, Germany, in November, http://www.dfpug.de/ Check 'em out!
